Rooted in the values of equity, academic excellence, and community service, USI is designed to identify and support academically promising and indigent youth from Ukawu community in Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.

To build a future where no talented youth from Ukawu is denied the chance to pursue higher education due to financial hardship.
To provide merit-based financial scholarships, mentoring support, and community engagement opportunities for academically promising indigent students of Ukawu origin, thereby nurturing a new generation of scholars, ethical leaders, and change agents.
Every academic year, USI awards scholarships to three (3) newly admitted students in universities across Nigeria.
Scholars must maintain a strong academic standing to retain their funding and are rewarded with additional incentives upon graduating with First Class.
The scheme is administered by a dedicated Scholarship Committee composed of respected educators, professionals, and community representatives who ensure fairness, transparency, and impact in every stage of the process — from screening and raffle draws to monitoring and renewal.
